In the scale of Islam, strength is never a justification for overpowering people\u2019s wealth, nor is chaos an excuse for violating their property. In the “Tree of Faith,” the branch of “Avoiding Pillage”<\/strong> (Nuhbah<\/em>) represents “Firm Stability”<\/strong>; it protects the harvest from meddling hands during moments of unrest. The Prophet \ufdfa categorically forbade pillaging and looting, categorizing it as an act beneath the dignity of a believer, to emphasize that respecting the rights of others is a covenant that cannot be broken by passing greed or temporary dominance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avoiding pillage in Islam is a “Victory of Values over Instincts.”<\/strong> A true believer\u2019s pride prevents them from reaching for wealth taken by stealth or force without right, preferring contentment with the lawful over the forbidden treasures of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Philosophy of Inviolability: “The Wealth of a Muslim is Not Lawful Except with Their Heartfelt Consent”<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Islam has constructed a formidable fence around the wealth of individuals, considering “pillage” a heinous act that contradicts spiritual dignity. This prohibition rests on firm pillars:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prophetic Warning:<\/strong> The Prophet \ufdfa disassociated himself from pillage and those who commit it on several occasions, placing a veil of awe and fear between the believer and this path, lest they come on the Day of Resurrection carrying the burdens of what they looted upon their backs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Requirements of Integrity: The Believer\u2019s Piety in Times of Greed<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    This branch manifests in a believer\u2019s conduct, making them a guardian of rights who remains steadfast during trials:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Rising Above Illicit Gains:<\/strong> In moments of war, crisis, or civil unrest, a believer does not reach for what is not theirs. They do not participate in looting public or private property; instead, they act as its protector and an advocate for its preservation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Piety Regarding Found Items (<\/strong>Luqatah<\/em><\/strong>):<\/strong> If a believer sees lost wealth or an opportunity for illicit gain by “snatching” chances unjustly, they stay their hand. They seek provision through its known doors, certain that “Provision is not attained through disobedience.”<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Respecting Public Wealth:<\/strong> A believer views public facilities and state property as a “trust” upon their neck. They do not loot from it nor justify taking it under flimsy pretexts; rather, they treat it with a sanctity even greater than that of their private wealth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Spiritual and Social Impact: A Society of Security and Integrity<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      When the character of “Avoiding Pillage” prevails in the nation, magnificent fruits are harvested that preserve society’s prestige:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • The Sovereignty of Security and Stability:<\/strong> People feel secure regarding their savings and trades, fearing neither robbery nor looting. This encourages investment, labor, and the building of a dignified life for all.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Clarity of Affection Among People:<\/strong> Looting breeds endless grudges and resentment. By abandoning it, compassion prevails, and the believer becomes a mirror for their brother\u2014grieving for his grief and guarding his wealth as they guard their own.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • The Blessing of Lawful Earning:<\/strong> Wealth gathered by right is blessed by Allah for its owners. Conversely, looted wealth is a fire that ignites within homes, eroding religion and bequeathing disgrace in this world and the Hereafter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Spiritual Accountability: “Whoever Takes a Hand-Span of Land Unjustly…”<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        This branch calls us to observe the limits of Allah in every dirham:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Remembering the Day of Presentation:<\/strong> The certainty that for everything taken by looting, the servant will stand as an adversary to the rightful owner before the Judge of Judges, where there is no dirham or dinar, only good and bad deeds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Contentment with Divine Apportionment:<\/strong> A believer is satisfied with the provision Allah has steered toward them by right, knowing that pillage is a “hurried” attempt to gain provision through a forbidden path.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Conclusion: A Clean Hand and Dignity Derived from Obedience<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          The branch of avoiding pillage is a title for the believer\u2019s dignity and their elevation above trivialities. It tells us that true strength is in “restraining the hand” from the forbidden, not in “extending it.” Whoever guards people\u2019s wealth and preserves their rights, Allah will guard their wealth and bless their life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
