Ten Sevens in the Book of Revelation: A Critical View
In the “Book of Revelation,” the number seven appears frequently. Here are some examples:
- Seven spirits before the throne of God.
- Seven golden lampstands representing seven churches.
- The Son of Man holding seven stars representing the seven angels of the churches.
- The Son of God having seven spirits of God.
- Seven burning lamps before the throne of God, which are the seven spirits of God.
- Seven seals on a scroll at the right hand of the throne of God.
- A lamb with seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth, who opens the seven seals.
- When the seventh seal is broken: seven angels appear, each given seven trumpets, bringing seven plagues upon the inhabitants of the earth.
- They also have seven golden bowls filled with the wrath of God, which they pour out on the earth’s inhabitants.
- The great harlot (Babylon) sitting on a beast with seven heads, representing seven mountains and seven kings.
Upon reviewing these sevens, we find them to be intertwined in a contradictory manner, a result of continuous distortion. Due to these contradictions, the council at the Nicene Creed in 325 AD refused to recognize it as a divinely inspired holy book.
