He earned a diploma in theology from the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Cairo in 1948, followed by a Master’s degree in philosophy and theology from Princeton University in the United States in 1952.

Research and Study:

Ibrahim specialised in theology and wrote his Master’s thesis titled “How to Destroy Islam by Muslims.” He worked under the American missionary movement and realized that their mission in Egypt was not to spread religion but to support colonialism and espionage.

Introduction to Islam:

In June 1955, Ibrahim listened to verses from Surah Al-Jinn in the Quran through the radio: “Say, [O Muhammad], ‘It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, ‘Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur’an. It guides the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone’.'” (Al-Jinn: 1-2). These verses profoundly affected him, leading him to read the Quran deeply.

Transformation and Faith:

After reading the Quran multiple times, Ibrahim found himself convinced by its teachings, especially what was mentioned in Surah Al-A’raf: “Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel…” (Al-A’raf: 157). Ibrahim began to understand that Islam was the true religion brought by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He found prophecies about Prophet Muhammad in the Quran that matched what was mentioned in the Torah and the Gospel.

Test and Challenge:

Ibrahim decided to study the Bible freely and resigned from his position as a pastor and secretary general of the American missions in Aswan. He was imprisoned and psychologically pressured for four months, during which the church tried to separate him from his wife and children and confiscate his library.

Declaration of Islam:

On December 25, 1959, Ibrahim sent a telegram to the head of the American mission announcing his conversion to Islam. He officially applied to declare his Islam, changing his name to Ibrahim Khalil Ahmad. His children’s names were also changed: Isaac to Osama, Samuel to Jamal, and Magda to Najwa.

Search for Truth:

Ibrahim returned to studying the biography of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and found in his life what convinced him that this simple unlettered man was truly the Messenger of God. He read the Quran deeply and found that its monotheistic system liberated man from any servitude except to God.

Facing Challenges:

Ibrahim faced persecution from the church and society for embracing Islam. He lost his job and his commercial office, continuing to work in simple jobs. He gave lectures on comparative religion in mosques, which angered the church.

Calling to Islam:

After migrating to Saudi Arabia, he met Dr. Jamil Ghazi and participated in open debates, leading to the conversion of 13 pastors in Sudan. He continued to call people to Islam and spread its teachings, believing that Islam is the true religion.

Conclusion:

Ibrahim Khalil Ahmad concludes his story by saying: “Faith must come from the heart first. I found in the Quran and the Prophet’s biography what liberated me and gave me psychological comfort. Embracing Islam was the result of a long search for truth and was the best decision of my life.”

Vie antérieure et antécédents : Ibrahim Khalil Ahmad, anciennement connu sous le nom de Phillips, était pasteur et professeur de théologie à...

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[28

post-795","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-conversion-to-islam
["GET
