In worldly life, people seek love and happiness, with many choosing marriage to find profound joy in a life partner. However, due to our human nature, differences and flaws exist, and one spouse may pass away before the other, or they may separate due to divorce or conflicts.

In contrast, in paradise, marriage is one of the greatest blessings bestowed upon believers. In paradise, there is no death, no separation, and no divorce. Instead, its inhabitants live in genuine happiness with their spouses. Allah Almighty says:

“But those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah – Islamic Monotheism) and do deeds of righteousness, we shall admit them to gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), abiding therein forever. Therein they shall have Azwajun Mutahharatun (purified mates or wives), and We shall admit them to shades wide and ever deepening (Paradise)” (Quran Translation, Surat An-Nisaa’, 57)

This means that the people of paradise enjoy purified spouses, free from any imperfections or shortcomings. Additionally, they live in the extended shade, signifying perpetual happiness and prosperity, in contrast to the toils of their earthly life.

In Surat At-Tur, Allah further describes the scene in paradise:

“They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And we shall marry them to Hur: (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes.” (Quran Translation, Surat At-Tur, 20)

Marriage in the Hereafter is eternal, devoid of any end. Nevertheless, it is free from sorrow and deficiencies, and based on love, happiness, and contentment. In paradise, each person finds their ideal life partner and lives with them in everlasting joy and bliss!
