In worldly life, people live in constant pursuit of happiness and contentment, but that is not always realized. Some live in poverty and deprivation, others suffer from diseases and pain; and many face injustice and oppression.
However, in paradise, all these hardships come to an end, and people find contentment. In paradise, there is no poverty, deprivation, illness, injustice, or oppression. Instead, people live in eternal happiness and prosperity.
This is granted to those who believed in God, His angels, and His messengers in this world and who believed in the Hereafter, understanding that there will be rewards or consequences based on their actions and choices here. As Allah Almighty says:
“Truly, those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give Zakat will have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.” (Quran Translation, Surat Al-Baqarah, 277)
Entry into paradise is not contingent on a person’s worldly wealth, strength, or otherworldly criteria. The inhabitants of paradise enjoy everything they desire, and there are no limits to their wishes. Allah grants them more than they expect or even imagine in terms of bliss and prosperity. As Allah says:
“There they will have all that they desire – and we have more (for them, i.e. a glance at the All-Mighty, All-Majestic).” (Quran Translation, Surat Qaf, 35)
In another verse, Allah says:
“And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion.” (Quran Translation, Surat Al-Insan, 20).
