In worldly life, people strive for perfection and happiness through worship, religion, or various rituals. However, true perfection and happiness come from the ultimate source: Allah, the Light of the heavens and the earth.
Despite the varying closeness of individuals to their Lord and their sense of contentment in this world, nothing compares to the distinct pleasure of witnessing Allah – a true and direct sight of the Creator of the entire universe, your Lord who bestowed guidance in this world and security in the Hereafter. Allah says:
“Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant) (*) Looking at their Lord (Allah).” (Quran Translation, Surat Al-Qiyamah, 22:23)
This means that the people of paradise will see the face of Allah with clarity, and this is one of the greatest pleasures imaginable for a human being. This vision seems to be the ultimate goal that believers sought in this world, and it becomes a reality for them in the Hereafter.
We strive to please Allah with our faith and righteous deeds, seeking His approval and satisfaction, and yearning for the encounter and the sight of His noble face.
This vision is akin to meeting a long-awaited beloved, a dream that believers have cherished. It is a meeting free from any absence or separation, an encounter that lasts forever. No other sight can compare to it; it is a vision that instils happiness and joy in the believer’s heart, filling them with contentment and tranquillity, and making them feel the completeness and perfection of the blessings bestowed upon them.
