Why Shahada?

It means that your past mistakes are forgiven, Prophet Muhammad will intercede for you on Judgment Day, and you will be at peace after you die, heading towards paradise.

Read this story and find the answer:

The match was held in a far-off country, so he took a permit from work to watch the game.

He rushed to his flat to catch the match’s start, bringing a hot burger with French fries, cigarettes, and a typical Coke bottle.

The match began, and the atmosphere was electric! After 25 minutes, his team scored a goal!

He jumped from his seat in joy, holding back his tears. However, after 5 minutes, he started to smell something.

One of the cigarettes he smoked had fallen onto the carpet, causing a small fire. He ignored it, changed his seat to watch the match, and continued smoking.

The first half finished with his team in the lead, and he was extremely happy.

However, the fire had spread to the entire carpet! After ten minutes of the second half, the fire had become dangerous and was spreading rapidly.

At that moment, he looked at the key beside the door and thought, “If it gets worse, I will run towards the door, using the key to escape, but I will wait until the match finishes.”

It was the 35th minute of the second half when the fire almost reached his house.

Suddenly, the screen exploded from the heat, and he realised that he had been foolish to wait that long. He couldn’t breathe properly, and his vision was blurry.

He tried to run towards the key, but it was too late. The flat seal had become like a cinder, dropping hot liquid from it, and the ground was like lava, melting everything!

When the fire touched his skin, it felt like touching an iron with maximum heat. It was a real oven that made him forget about his favourite team, beautiful food, and any moments of previous happiness.

You may wonder why he didn’t run away from the beginning, take the key and go to a safe place. But his attachment to life and forgetting what is more important made him delay his decision.

This is an example of someone who delays saying the Shahada. “I am not ready enough,” “I need to read more,” “I will make it after…” Suddenly, death comes without warning, and you waste the only chance to be far from the after-life oven (Hellfire).
