The Illusion of Earthly Power<\/strong> We often feel overwhelmed by the “giants” in our lives: a difficult boss, a systemic injustice, or even a daunting personal habit we can’t seem to break. We look at these things as absolute powers that dictate our happiness. However, history is a graveyard of “unbeatable” empires and “invincible” leaders. True strength isn’t about how much you can control; it\u2019s about realizing who is actually in control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Concept of al-Quwwah<\/strong> In Islamic theology, the attribute of “Strength” belongs perfectly and exclusively to the Creator. One of His Names is al-Qawi<\/strong> (The All-Strong). According to the Glossary of Islamic Terms<\/em>, human strength is \u2018Ajz<\/strong> (weakness\/incapacity) in comparison to Divine power. Every ounce of energy in the universe\u2014from the movement of galaxies to the firing of a neuron in your brain\u2014is sustained by Him. When you connect your heart to al-Matin<\/strong> (The Firm\/The Powerful), you are tapping into a power source that cannot be “unplugged.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Key to the Treasure: La Hawla<\/strong> The Prophet Muhammad \ufdfa described the phrase “La hawla wala quwwata illa billah”<\/strong> as a “treasure from the treasures of Paradise.” This isn’t just a mantra; it\u2019s a psychological reset. It means that no situation can change (Hawl<\/strong>) and no action can be accomplished (Quwwah<\/strong>) without the permission of the Almighty. When you face a “wall,” you realize that the wall only has the power the Creator allows it to have. This shifts you from a state of Khawf<\/strong> (fear) to a state of Yaqin<\/strong> (certainty).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Resilience of the Soul<\/strong> Believing that ultimate strength belongs to the Divine brings a profound sense of Sakina<\/strong> (tranquillity). You no longer feel the need to “muscle” your way through life. You still work hard, but you do so with a calm heart. You become Thabit<\/strong> (steadfast) because your confidence isn’t in your own muscles or your bank account, but in al-Jabbar<\/strong> (The Restorer\/The Compeller). This mindset gives you the courage to stand for the Haqq<\/strong> (Truth) even when you are outnumbered, because you know where the real power lies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
