According to the <em>Glossary of Islamic Terms<\/em>, <strong>Himmah<\/strong> refers to &#8220;ambition,&#8221; &#8220;resolve,&#8221; or &#8220;high determination.&#8221; Having &#8220;High Himmah&#8221; means you don&#8217;t settle for mediocrity. Whether you want to be a scientist, an artist, a parent, or an entrepreneur, you are encouraged to pursue that path with the intention of <strong>Ihsan<\/strong> (excellence). The glossary defines a <strong>Khalifa<\/strong> as a &#8220;vicegerent&#8221; or a &#8220;steward&#8221; on earth. This means we have a responsibility to improve the world around us. Chasing a dream that solves a problem, creates beauty, or provides for your family is a way of fulfilling your role as a steward. Your success is a tool that can be used to spread <strong>\u0420\u0430\u0445\u043c\u0430<\/strong> (mercy) and justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Relying on the Source of Strength<\/strong> The secret to not burning out while chasing your dreams is <strong>Tawakkul<\/strong> (trust in the Creator). You do your absolute best\u2014utilizing every resource and talent you have\u2014and then you leave the results to <strong>al-Qadir<\/strong> (The All-Powerful). This prevents your dreams from becoming a source of anxiety.
