In our worldly life, people seek to indulge in the most exquisite food, drinks, and clothing. Some delicacies are so expensive that only the wealthy can afford them. However, these pleasures can be spoiled by excess salts or bacteria, depriving humans of their benefits. In paradise, however, the food and drink are the finest, free from corruption, spoilage, diseases, bloating, or fever.

The Quran mentions that the inhabitants of paradise will be presented with delicious food and drink as a reward for their righteous deeds in the world. Allah says in the Quran:

“Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past!” (Quran Translation, Surat Al-Haaqqa, 24)

Additionally, Allah describes another perspective of the scene: “And the shade thereof is close upon them, and the bunches of fruit thereof will hang low within their reach (*) And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and cups of crystal – Crystal-clear, made of silver. They will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes) (*) And they will be given to drink there of a cup (of wine) mixed with Zanjabil (ginger).” Quran Translation, Surat Al-Insan, 14:17)

That is, the trees of Paradise are ripe and fruitful, and their fruits are close to their people. Then, the plates of food and drink that are served to them are made of silver, and the cup of juice that they drink is mixed with ginger, which is a delicious drink, especially in Paradise, because the foods, colours, and shapes in the Paradise of the Hereafter are different from their counterparts here.

Allah says in the Quran:

“And give glad tidings to those who believe and do righteous good deeds, that for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). Every time they will be provided with a fruit therefrom, they will say: “This is what we were provided with before,” and they will be given things in resemblance (i.e. in the same form but different in taste) and they shall have therein Azwajun Mutahharatun [1] (purified mates or wives) and they will abide therein forever.” (Quran Translation, Surat Al-Baqarah, 25)

Enjoying food, drink, and silverware in paradise is the reward that Allah has prepared for His believing servants who performed righteous deeds in the world. Paradise is the eternal abode of happiness, accessible only to those who purify their souls and rectify their conduct.
