Miracles are never impossible

The Logic of Despair We live in a world governed by cause and effect. We calculate our chances of success based on our resources, our health, or our bank accounts. When the math doesn’t add up, we give up. We say, “It’s impossible.” But this “logic” only accounts for human ability; it completely leaves out Divine Power. The history of faith is a history of people who stood before “impossible” odds and saw a way opened for them.

The Concept of Mu’jiza In Islamic tradition, a miracle is called a Mu’jiza. According to the Glossary of Islamic Terms, a Mu’jiza is an “extraordinary event” performed by a Prophet to prove his message. However, the root of the word comes from ‘Ajz, which means “incapability.” A miracle is named as such because it is something that humans are incapable of doing. While we no longer have Prophets among us, the Power that created those miracles—al-Qadir (The All-Powerful)—is still the same Power that manages your life today.

The Gift of Karamah Even for those of us who aren’t Prophets, the Creator provides Karamah. The glossary defines Karamah as “wonders” or “blessings” bestowed upon the righteous. This could be a “coincidence” that saves you, a door that opens when everyone said it was locked, or a sudden peace in a moment of terror. When you have Yaqin (certainty) that nothing is impossible for the Divine, you stop looking at the “wall” in front of you and start looking at the One who created the wall.

Trusting the Miracle-Maker Believing in the “impossible” is the ultimate act of Iman (faith). It means that even when the doctors are worried, the debts are high, or the heart is broken, you maintain your Du’a (supplication). You ask al-Mujib (The Responder) not because it’s easy, but because He is capable. This mindset brings a profound sense of Sakina (tranquillity). You are no longer a prisoner of your circumstances; you are a guest of the Creator of circumstances.
