Allah’s treasures are unlimited

The Scarcity Trap Many of us live with a subconscious fear that the world’s resources—not just money, but happiness and success—are limited. We feel that if someone else gets ahead, it means there is less left for us. This leads to a life of stress and “keeping up with the Joneses.” However, this outlook is based on a material view of the world that ignores the spiritual reality of the One who provides for all.

The Concept of al-Ghani The core of this lesson is understanding the Name of the Creator, al-Ghani. According to the Glossary of Islamic Terms, al-Ghani refers to “The Self-Sufficient” or “The Truly Rich.” Because He is the source of everything, His treasures never diminish, no matter how much He gives. The Quran reminds us that “to Allah belong the treasures of the heavens and the earth.” When you realize that you are asking from an unlimited source, your heart finds a deep sense of Sakina (tranquillity).

Abundance Through Rizq In Islam, everything you possess—your health, your intellect, your family, and your wealth—is called Rizq. The glossary defines Rizq as “provision” or “sustenance.” The beautiful thing about Rizq is that it is already guaranteed and measured by al-Razzaq (The Provider). You don’t have to “fight” others for your provision; you only have to work for it with Ihsan (excellence) and trust that what is meant for you will find its way to you.

From Greed to Generosity When you believe that the treasures of the Divine are unlimited, you move from a state of greed to a state of Karam (generosity). You become happy for others’ success because you know their blessing doesn’t decrease yours. You start to live with Yaqin (certainty) that the same Power that provided for them can and will provide for you. This mindset is the key to Falah—the true success and prosperity that starts within the soul.
