Following guidance leads to more guidance

The Trap of Perfectionism We often feel paralyzed by the “big picture.” We think, “If I can’t do everything perfectly, why bother starting at all?” We want to have all the answers and a guaranteed outcome before we commit to a value or a practice. This mindset keeps us stagnant. We forget that wisdom is not a destination you arrive at suddenly, but a momentum you build through small, consistent actions.

The Concept of Ziyadat al-Huda The Islamic principle is simple: Hidayah (guidance) is a living gift that grows. According to the Glossary of Islamic Terms, the Quran teaches that “As for those who are guided, He increases them in guidance (Zadahu Huda).” This means that your current level of understanding is a test. If you are faithful to the truth you have right now, al-Hadi (The Guide) will unlock the next level for you. Guidance is the reward for acting on guidance.

The Momentum of the Heart When you make a choice to be honest in a difficult situation, or to be patient when you want to snap, you are opening a “spiritual door.” Each act of Taqwa (mindfulness) clears the “dust” from your heart, allowing the Nur (light) of the Divine to shine through more clearly. This creates a cycle of Khayr (goodness). You find that the things that used to be hard for you suddenly become easier, and questions that used to haunt you suddenly find their answers.

The Serenity of the Moving Soul Realizing that guidance is a journey brings a profound sense of Sakina (tranquillity). You no longer feel the stress of needing to be perfect today. You find peace in being a “seeker.” This shift removes the fear of the unknown and replaces it with Yaqin (certainty) that you are being looked after. As long as you are moving toward the Haqq (Truth), you are never truly lost. You become Thabit (steadfast) in your effort, trusting that the path will reveal itself in its own time.
